Last night was a great Project Runway. Have you ever dreamed of creating your own fabric? I know I have. Project Runway contestants got to create their own textile, using any fabric, design, color, pattern, or logo that they wanted. They designed the fabric and it was delivered to them the next day as a workable material. This was amazing, I was mesmerized to see what types of fabrics and patterns that people this creative would design, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Jonathon was criticized by judges when they said his fabric looked like a “dirty tablecloth”. Funny, I liked the fabric but hated the dress he designed for the fabric. Mila created a horrible long maxi dress with rainbow stripes on the side. I think the dress would of been cute if it was short but it was too long and too white, it didn’t show off the designed fabric enough. I think Jonathon or Mila should of went home last night, but they didn’t, Anthony was chosen to go home. Anthony had a nice fabric but was sent home because the judges said the dress design looked too much like his previous designs. I don’t think Anthony’s project was the worst of the night, nor do I think it was the best, he fell somewhere in the middle. I hated to see Anthony leave because he was so much fun to watch, he was so creative and had the best attitude. Being the only Southerner on the show (he resides in Atlanta, GA), I think he added the Southern prospective, as well. Clearcut winners last night: Seth Aaron designed an amazing punk outfit with a hip fabric design, and Emilio created his own logo material with a marvelous design.
Emilio has really turned up his game on the last few projects, he may actually win this thing….Seth Aaron is also a favorite of mine that’s still there, his designs have a rebel rock edge to them that I love. As for Anthony, I think the show really helped him, because you could see him grow as a designer, as we got deeper into the season. I think we’ll see more of his work in the near future, because with his personality and talent he can’t fail.
