The Eclipse Soundtrack

The Eclipse Soundtrack was released on June 2nd and while many fans of The Twilight Saga have said they’re not real sure if they like this soundtrack after a few listens I think it may be my favorite. Of course as the story keeps getting a little darker I think the music reflects that as well and I can’t wait to see where a few of the songs fit into the movie. I’m also trying to keep in mind that my musical tastes are alot wider than the average individual. Anyway here’s my review of the deluxe edition track by track.

1. Eclipse (All Yours) by Metric-I’ve been a Metric fan ever since I heard the lyrics to Gimme Sympathy. I had the song as my ringtone for awhile I liked it so much. I like this song as well and was glad to see Metric included on the soundtrack.

2. Neutron Star Collision by Muse-I’m a Muse fan but I have to say this is one of my least favorite songs on the soundtrack and I usually skip it on my iPod.

3. Ours by The Bravery-I was glad to see the hopeful sounds of The Bravery on the soundtrack and I like this song.

4. Heavy in Your Arms by Florence and the Machine-One of my favorite songs on the soundtrack. I love the indie rock style of this song.

5. My Love by Sia-A haunting soulful melody which I like.

6. Atlas by Fanfarlo-An upbeat folksie song which I have been told is typical of London based Fanfarlo.

7. Chop and Change by The Black Keys-Sounds of blues and rock. This song would be more at home on the True Blood soundtrack but I like it.

8. Rolling In On A Burning Tire by The Dead Weather-Very interesting combo, The Dead Weather artists. I love any band that has Jack White and Allison Mossheart. With haunting lyrics that discuss you casting a shadow that is not your own this song is great.

9. Let’s Get Lost by Beck and Bat for Lashes-I love Bat for Lashes, I love the haunting melodies, I love Fur and Gold and Two Suns. I’m also liking Beck more and more. This is one of my favorites on the soundtrack as well.

10. Jonathon Low by Vampire Weekend-If you like Vampire Weekend, you’ll like this song. You can hear some Paul Simon influences on this song like some of their other songs. It’s typical Vampire Weekend.

11. With You In My Head by UNKLE (featuring The Black Angels)-This song is fairly good has a indie rock quality to it.

12. A Million Miles An Hour by Eastern Conference Champions-I’ve never heard of this indie rock band before but their music sounds real, I like them.

13. Life on Earth by Band of Horses-Band of Horses has been compared to Neil Young and I’m sorry, I just don’t like Neil Young.

14. What Part of Forever by Cee Lo Green-This song sound very carefree very crisp and clean, it’s a good track.

15. Jacob’s Theme by Howard Shore-Instrumental, which I’m assuming will be playing in the movie during a pivotal Jacob scene.

16. The Line by Battles-Okay song, but not great.

17. How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep by Bombay Bicycle Club-Good song. I remember Bombay Bicycle Club when they won the competition to be the opening band for V Festival a few years ago in London.

I have some new wine coming tomorrow so I’ll probably be posting a new wine review in the next few days. Until then!
