Enjoy Your Summer

With Summer 2010 approximately halfway over it’s a good time to take a moment and consider the following: Has it been all you had hoped? I have to say we have taken advantage of the area in which we live by enjoying several National Parks, the Blue Ridge Parkway and many hiking trails close to home. We’ve done more general home maintenance and home projects than usual. I’ve gardened and grown more tomatoes than I ever have. Actually we’ve walked the dog, grilled outside and tasted more wine than any other Summer I can remember. Yes, after a bad Winter last year, I think we have proved that it made us stronger by playing and working outdoors more than ever, enjoying each Summer day till sunset. Of course, we’re not done yet. We have a vacation to look forward to, home canning to learn, road trips, more trails to hike, photos to take and more home maintenance and yard work before winter. The days may be getting shorter but I’m not throwing in the towel. I’m gonna make Summer 2010 last as long as I possibly can because before you know it we’ll be putting on winter clothing in anticipation of colder weather and it’ll be dark at 5 pm.

The pic is a photo I took one evening at dusk of the sunset on my street which overlooks the town of Spruce Pine and yes, it is an awesome view.

I’m viewing your pic as a result of the review/comments you made about Chateau Morrisette on Facebook. Yes, this is indeed a very beautiful sunset…..you live in a very pretty place. I’m in Wytheville, VA and CM is my favorite winery.
