Thinking in terms of New Year resolutions I usually avoid those things like the plague. But this year I have a few promises that I’m making to myself.
1. To write, (even if it’s a small bit) everyday.
2. To live a healthier lifestyle. This includes cutting out most processed and fried foods. Eating more fresh veggies and fruits. A big one–Stop Smoking! This also includes getting more exercise (which is not a problem in warm months, but during the winter I really have to make an effort to get going).
3. Read more books.
4. Acquire some new skills. This is an ongoing process for me, like the old slogan said “Learning is fun”. Possibilities include knitting, new gardening techniques and sectioning a portion of the yard for a mini fruit orchard.
