This photo shows a portion of the Linn Cove Viaduct, arguably the most complicated concrete bridge ever built. It’s a 1,243 foot concrete segmental bridge which snakes around the slopes of Grandfather Mountain, NC, and has won eleven design awards. There are walking trails that originate at the center, travel under and beside the viaduct, and connect with the Blue Ridge Parkway trail network.
