Jacob’s Creek Shiraz/Cabernet

Vintage:  2007

Region: Australia, Barossa Valley

Varietal: 79% Shiraz 21% Cabernet

This is a great red blend. We enjoyed it tonight with grilled steak and gouda cheese. I would classify it as a recession wine due to the low cost but I tend to be partial to red blends and this is not exception. I think it’s an excellent value. It has notes of plum and berry with soft tanins, not to strong but tanins which you can taste, and light oak flavors on the finish. I picked this up at our local WalMart Supercenter on my last trip there and I’m not sure which other stores carry it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Cost: $5.00
