So Fall is definitely in the air here in the mountains. Last Friday I went to my first Apple Festival, which takes place every year in nearby Erwin,Tn. I know it’s not very far away but I’ve always been busy or put other things first instead of going, till now. There were over 350 vendors with lots of cool items. I purchased a tie-dye tee which I love, it’s black and bright pink from a great vendor, Sunflower TieDyes which ironically, since I’m also in NC, is located in Asheville, she also has an Etsy shop. I also purchased a pumpkin roll which was awesome. Vendors had a large variety of items including jewelry, antiques, baked items, handmade girls jumpers and bows, canned food stuffs and hand carved items.
This weekend we went for a convertible ride north on the Blue Ridge Parkway from Milepost 331 Spruce Pine to Milepost 285 in Boone. It was a chilly ride reaching a low of 57 at the highest point but well worth it. The area around Grandfather Mtn. and Linn Cove Viaduct were at leaf peak. People were pulled off the sides of the road everywhere taking pictures of the gorgeous colors. The photos on this post are some I took yesterday coming up our street. The leaves here are just beginning to noticeably get closer to peak and the colors are gorgeous this year.
