Dishwasher Detergent, Make Your Own, It’s Better and Saves Dollars

So, today I’m going all hippie on everybody’s ass. I found a great recipe online for making your own dishwasher detergent. It’s all natural ingredients, works great and is much less expensive than buying the premade stuff in the store. I already had lemon juice and white vinegar, left over from fall canning so I bought a huge box of Borax $2.98 and Baking soda $2.86. I’ve paying $13.00 for Finish large boxes so I’m very pleased with the savings. My materials costed┬áless than $6 and I barely put a dent in them making my first run.

Dishwashing detergent recipe:

1 cup white vinegar
1 cup baking soda
1 cup Borax
2 tbls. lemon juice

Mix together, it’ll foam as ingredents mix and that’s ok. I put mine in a plastic container which had creamer in it. Shake up before using and use half as much as you use regularly.┬áThis worked so much better than my regular Finish dishwasher detergent and it’s all natural! My dishes came out so shiny and my dishwasher even appears cleaner. This is great!
