Whitney Houston August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012

Sad news today guys, TMZ reports that Whitney Houston, at age 48, was found dead this afternoon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, by members of her entourage. Paramedics were called to the scene and Houston remained unresponsive. Whitney Houston is the winner of two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards and 22 American Music Awards during her record-breaking career. Her album “Whitney” was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. She has sold 200 million albums worldwide. The singer has battled drug addiction for years. At the top of her game Whitney was unbeatable. Her range and voice rivaled Mariah Carey and Madonna. I remember my Senior year in college in 1993, all you could hear was that damn Bodyguard Soundtrack. I remember when Whitney knocked Madonna’s Bedtime Stories off the charts with the soundtrack. Ironic, since my last posts were about Madonna wowing the Superbowl crowd. In different circumstances the roles could of easily been reversed. Whitney once said, “The biggest devil is me. I’m either my best friend or worst enemy.” Aren’t we all?
