I’ve said it before but, I’m going to say it again. I feel so much better when I drink Matcha tea. Last winter I had a large mug of Matcha everyday. Yesterday I made a mug and I felt so good yesterday afternoon, I didn’t have the foggy “run down” afternoon feeling. For years we’ve all heard the benefits of drinking green tea. Matcha tea leaves are grown in indirect sun which causes them to be much higher in amino acids. Matcha powder is made from the tender leaves picked from the very top of the plant. The leaves are dried and ground into a fine powder.

Matcha is rich in L-Theanine, an amino acid that actually promotes a relaxed state of mind and well-being. L-Theanine is common in all tea but, matcha may contain up to five times more of this amino acid than common black and green teas. One of the most unexpected benefits matcha drinkers experience is a boost of energy through the day. Recent studies have shown matcha even improved physical endurance by 24%. Matcha tea boosts metabolism and burns fat. One recent study even suggested that matcha may help burn calories by four times. It also protects your liver and reduces high blood pressure. The benefits of Matcha tea are numerous and well known.
