Transitioning To Fall

We all have those favorite items in our closet that we look forward to taking out and wearing with the change of seasons. I love all seasons, I think each has it’s place but fall is truly one of my favorites. Living in WNC the change from summer to fall is so dramatic, complete with brilliant colors of red, orange and red in the mountains. Here in the fall the days can get quite warm with chilly mornings and nights so I’ve learned to layer clothes in the morning during the transition from summer to fall.
crocs duck boot
Duck boots are an essential. I bought this pair from Crocs on super clearance last year and only wore them once. So I’m looking forward to wearing them this year. Leaves pile up around our house like crazy because even though we are deceptively close to town, there’s lots of woods around our house. A good rain can make those wet leaves to stick to everything and it’s easy to destroy a pair of flats on a simple dog walk. That’s when I love a good waterproof pair of duck boots.

ugg beanieI purchased this UGG Oversized Cardy Beanie from Nordstrom a bunch of years ago but it’s still a favorite staple. It fits so well while looking good with practically any casual outfit and is so cozy and warm.

green nails incI love changing from bright summer nail polishes to deep fall colors. One of my favs right now is nails, inc London’s Bruton Mews which is a deep forest green. This polish is so dark it almost looks black at first glance. It compliments a wide range of fall colors including brown, orange, black and gray.

plum coachI love colors of plum with gray in the fall/winter. I also have boots which are the same color as this bag. On chilly days I wear a white or black fleece sweater with one of several long sleeve tees in varying shades of plum I have with black or gray jeans or skirt and plum accessories. A simple easy outfit which is easy to pull together.

gray cardigan
A gray cardigan is a basic staple in my wardrobe. A couple of years ago I purchased a gray boyfriend cardigan from Target. Gray goes well with any other color and I’ve worn this cardi sooo much because it fits well, looks nice and is an easy way to layer with practically anything.
