Since we’ve been focusing on eating fresh, healthy foods I’ve been experimenting with a lot of different recipes for a wide variety of veggies. Today I’m going to share my go to green bean recipe. It’s so easy and it’s really good. The beans come out cooked but not overcooked so you retain a lot of the vitamins.
This recipe for fresh green beans takes less than 20 minutes to cook. For this recipe you need the following:
Put a pot of water on to boil. When the water begins boiling add the beans for 4-5 minutes. This step is for softening up the beans, not for completely cooking them. After 4-5 minutes drain beans and add to a frying pan. Drizzle with 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil and add salt and pepper. At this time you can add any additional spices you have on hand example, thyme, italian, red pepper flakes etc. Also you can add onion sliced thin. Saute the beans in olive oil for 10-12 minutes stirring frequently.
